CAN BE MADE IN CROCK POT AND COOK UNTIL TENDER SERVERS 6

1 POUND GROUND BEEF
1 SMALL ONION, DICED
1 TEASPOON SHORTENING
SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE
1 MEDIUM CABBAGE, CHOPPED NOT TO FINE
1 CAN ( 10 OUNCE ) CONDENSED TOMATO SOUP

LIGHTLY BROWN BEEF, AND ONION IN MELTED SHORTENING.

SEASON WITH SALT AND PEPPER.

PLACE A LAYER OF CHOPPED CABBAGE IN A HEAVY 9 X 13 PAN.

COVER WITH BEEF AND ONION.

TOP WITH LAYER OF CABBAGE.

POUR TOMATO SOUP OVER ALL.

COVER AND BAKE AT 350 DEGREES ABOUT 1 1/4 HOURS OR UNTIL CABBAGE IS TENDER.
