MIX TOGETHER:

1/2 CUP SUGAR
1/2 CUP SORGHUM
1/2 CUP SHORTENING
A PINCH OF SALT
1 TEASPOON GINGER
2 TEASPOONS SODA DISSOLVED IN 1 CUP BOILING WATER.

SIFT AND MEASURE 2 1/2 CUPS FLOUR AND BEAT INTO ABLOVE MIXTURE.

ADD 2 WELL BEATEN EGGS LAST.

GINGERBREAD SAUCE

1/2 CUP SUGAR
2 LEVEL TABLESPOONS CORNSTARCH'
ADD 1 1/2 CUPS BOILING WATER AND COOK UNTIL CLEAR.

THEN ADD 1 TEASPOON VANILLA AND 1 LARGE TABLESPOONS BUTTER AND USE WHIPPED CREAM ON TOP OF SAUCE.

POUR INTO GREASED AND GLOURED 9 INCH SQUARE PAN

BAKE AT 325 FOR 45 TO 50 MIN.
