Sourdough Sodey Biscuits

1 C. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Soda
2 tsp. Cream of Tartar
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 C. Starter
1/4 C. Shortening

Sift flour, soda, cream of tartar, and salt together.

Cut in shortening with 2 knives or pastry blender.

Stir in starter with a fork until well blended.

Turn dough out on a lightly floured board and knead it briefly.

Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut into small rounds.

Put on buttered baking sheet and bake in hot 425 oven for five to seven minutes or until golden brown.

These biscuits bake very quickly and should be watched closely to avoid burning.
